This website was created by the team behind Ristorante Pizzeria Dell’Ulivo, a family-run kitchen based in Mugnano del Cardinale (Avellino, Italy), with the goal of sharing practical cooking knowledge, tested recipes, and everyday kitchen techniques developed through years of hands-on experience.
While the restaurant remains a physical place where food is served, this website is an editorial project: a space dedicated to teaching, explaining, and simplifying good cooking for home kitchens.
Meet the Chef Behind the Content: Antonio Minichiello

Antonio Minichiello grew up in Avellino, Italy, where the kitchen was the heart of family life — a place of celebration, comfort, and discovery. Early mornings were filled with the aroma of fresh bread and hearty ragu, while evenings brought homemade pastas, fragrant sauces, fresh herbs, and wine. Cooking alongside his mother, Antonio realized his lifelong passion for food, entering culinary school at the age of 15.
His career spans some of the most prestigious kitchens in Italy, Europe, and the United States:
- Bagni di Pisa Resort & SPA, Tuscany (2005) – 5-star resort member of The Leading Hotels of the World
- La Terrazza, Hotel Eden – Dorchester Collection, Rome – Michelin-starred fine dining
- Four Seasons Hotel London & Allegro Restaurant, Prague (2008) – Michelin-starred, internationally recognized
- Verandah at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (2010–2017) – Oversaw multiple restaurants; ranked #2 Best Italian Restaurant in Las Vegas by Zagat; Top 10 Best Restaurant in Vegas by TripAdvisor
- Marco Beach Ocean Resort, Naples, Florida (2017–2019) – Executive Chef; awarded Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, OpenTable Diners’ Choice, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

Our Approach to Cooking
Good cooking is not about perfection — it’s about:
- Understanding ingredients
- Respecting time and temperature
- Using simple techniques well
Everything shared on this site reflects that philosophy.
For more than a decade, my work has focused on testing food storage, kitchen tools, and household practices under real conditions — observing what holds up over time and what quietly fails. That approach grew from years spent in editorial testing environments, where methods are repeated, results are compared, and explanations matter more than quick fixes.
This blog exists as a place to continue that work independently, with the freedom to explore small but persistent kitchen problems that affect daily life.
